Wherever a path on the server has to be entered, there is a button with three dots next to the field. It opens the server file picker so that you do not have to type the path.

At present it is opened from the command wizard when an action expects a file or a directory, and from the event editor at "Set artwork" and at the sweeper folder.

The picker works over the same connection as the main window and therefore functions in all modes: FTP, FTPS, SFTP and the local file mode.

The window

At the top the current path is shown as a sequence of clickable segments, as in the FTP tab of the main window. Clicking a segment jumps there; the leading slash leads to the configured root directory.

Below it is the list with the directories and files of the current path. Directories come first, then the files. The entry with the two dots leads one level up; below the root it is absent.

If a file is being looked for, the list shows only the file types that suit the respective field - for a track, therefore, only audio files. Directories always stay visible, otherwise you could not get anywhere.

On entering the list, the path, the number of entries and the selected entry are announced as one sentence. When moving with the arrow keys you hear whether it is a directory or a file.

Operation

- Enter key: Opens the selected directory. If the selection is on a file, it is applied and the window closes.
- Backspace: Goes one level up. At the root it is announced that there is no level above.
- Up: Same effect as Backspace.
- Refresh: Reads the current directory again and announces the path once more.
- Apply respectively This directory: Closes the window with the result, see below.
- Cancel: Closes the window without a selection. The Escape key does the same.

There is deliberately no context menu here. In the lists of the main window an entry has many possible actions, here exactly one: open a directory or apply a file. The Enter key carries it out directly.

File or directory

If a file is being looked for, the button is called "Apply" and applies the entry selected in the list. If no entry or a directory is selected, the directory is opened.

If a directory is being looked for, the button is called "This directory" and always applies the directory currently open, not a selected one. To choose a subdirectory you therefore open it first. This rule is easier to follow by ear than a distinction between the selected and the opened directory.

Root directory

The chosen path is converted into a drive path for RadioBOSS, because RadioBOSS works with the paths of its own computer. The assignment comes from the root path table in the settings.

In the picker you can also navigate outside the configured root directory. A path from there cannot be applied, however: it has no counterpart on the RadioBOSS computer, and such an entry would not be playable. In that case a corresponding message appears and the picker stays open.
