Besides audio files, control commands can also be inserted into the playlist. There are two ways to do so: the RadioBOSS tab for the most common commands and the command wizard for all the others.

Via the RadioBOSS tab

The RadioBOSS tab on the right holds a fixed selection of frequently used commands. They are inserted from the context menu, which you open with the Enter key or a right-click.
Depending on the option chosen, the new entry appears above or below the currently selected playlist entry, or alternatively is appended at the end.

Commands can also be dragged from the RadioBOSS tab into the playlist.

To switch between the playlist and the RadioBOSS tab: Shift+F1 puts the focus on the playlist, Shift+F12 on the RadioBOSS source.

Available commands:

Start relay: Starts a presenter live stream or an external source.
Stop relay: Ends all active live streams and puts the playlist running in the background on air.
Random playlist: RadioBOSS picks one of the playlists at random from the FTP directory selected in the FTP tab.
Website trigger: Sends a command to the website to report the current show.
Set broadcast title: Changes the song title currently broadcast (cast title).
Placeholder: Inserts a silent placeholder track.
Start broadcasting: Switches the broadcasting of all streams on.
Stop broadcasting: Ends the broadcasting of all streams.

Via the command wizard

The RadioBOSS tab covers only a small part of what RadioBOSS knows. All other commands and special entries are inserted with the command wizard. It builds the line for you, so you do not have to remember the notation.

The context menu of the playlist holds two entries for this:

- Insert command (key M in the drop-down menu): Creates a new line. It is inserted behind the selected entry; if nothing is selected, it goes to the end.
- Edit command (key E in the drop-down menu): Opens the selected entry in the wizard.

"Edit command" is available for every entry that is not a plain track. This applies not only to the commands from the RadioBOSS tab but also to network streams, line inputs, time announcements, comments, hour markers, teasers, containers, text-to-speech entries and playlist entries. For an ordinary track the entry stays greyed out: tracks are edited in the tag and cue point editor.

The wizard is described in detail in the chapter "Command wizard".
